  • during this season i truly bet on Jennifer Hudson... well, i guess God has HIS ways.. :)) Season 3 was full of power vocalists! i was 13 yrs old that time and boy those season was on fire!!! but i dunno how Jasmine Trias came into top 3!! XD HAHAHAHA

  • i don't understand how they can pick a gospel song as a final tiebreaker in the finale. fantasia was gospel and diana isn't. for what it's worth, she did the song well.

  • She's pitchy all over the place. Fantasia's version is much better..

  • First time I've heard this song and I love it!! She's just a tiny bit off key in spots but they are in difficult spots where she has to change so much going up the scale. She really is good in my opinion but I'm just a nobody who can't sing anything on key.

  • This girl should have won she was WAY BETTER than Fantasia this year the votes were WRONG!!! Really upset me!!!

  • She didn't stand a chance with this song.

  • @eurasianempress It's probably already been fixed. She's no longer 16 and can probably sing this song without too much shrieking today.

I do respect it if someone says they "prefer" Diana. How can you argue with someone about what they prefer? I do NOT respect the statment that Diana was "robbed".

What really happened was clear to ANY music business professional and confirmed by Simon after Fantasia's rendition of this song: "Fantasia, that was your acceptance speech. Congratulations"

  • @demonhoopa She is visibly straining but I don't think it's a problem that's impossible to fix. A vocal coach taught me that emotional tension can have a huge impact on the quality of one's singing. I've observed both Fantasia and Diana closely and they have their strengths and weaknesses just like any other artist. They both have good voices but I just personally prefer Diana's. If you prefer Fantasia's, cool, but please respect that everyone's tastes are not 100% identical.

  • @eurasianempress LOL. You new to the internet? Just read through this comment section.

Everything in art is preference especially which is "better". However, whether or not someone is straining to hit notes is a matter of fact, it can be measured. And I guarantee you that any vocal coach worth their salt will confirm that Diana is straining and Fantasia is not.

If straining to get through a song to the degree that your body is locked in a rigid posture is someone's preference, that's ok.

  • @demonhoopa I don't think that's always necessarily true; some people won't respond to a negative/harsh opinion because often the best policy is to simply ignore it...but I think it's all based on a matter of preference rather than a matter of fact. I try to respect both those who like Diana's singing as well as those who prefer Fantasia's. (I'm sure if everyone thought and felt exactly the same, this would be a pretty boring world).
