Welcome to Jejudo, where a unique island culture is well-preserved with beautiful nature. Here, in Honinji Village, even more mysterious legends were born in the island of mysteries. Following the beautiful beach, visitors reach Honinji Village, where there is the legend of first international marrige in Korea. The tale tells the story of three gods from Tamna, marrying three princesses of Byeoknang at Honinji Pond. Shinbanggul is where the three gods supposedly spent the night with the princesses. It's as if the legend has come alive.
About twenty minutes away from the village, there is a beach that is shallow and quiet. Shinyang Beach is perfect for a day on the beach with your children. A few miles from Shinyang Beach along the east coastline, there is a hill called Seopji Koji, made of volcanic ash. A fresh green field is stretched beyond the cliff, further than the eye can see. There is a unique culture in Jejodo called Haenyeo, a woman diver. Until just twenty or thirty years ago, these women had been breadwinners for their households with their tough pioneering spirits.
Their numbers have decreased significantly, but the hanyeo, diving into the water day after day for her family, remains the symbol of Jeju women. In particular, sea urchin noodle soup is a delicacy that can only be found here. Feel the exotic island culture and traditional in Honinji Village of Jejudo.
