This track deals with the Fellowship's doings in Moria. As such, it is a very dark track. The Ring is growing heavier for Frodo to carry and is weighing him down. The viewer is also introduced to Gollum - the Fellowship becomes aware that he is following them.

The display of the Fellowship's wandering through Moria by this track is done superbly. A good part of this track is when the Fellowship reaches the tomb of Balin. Just prior to that, the view of Moria revealed by Gandalf reveals a spectacular sight that is revealed by the music.

Once in the tomb, Goblins become alerted to their presence by Pippin's foolishness and they are forced to fight their way out. This battle scene is not depicted by the track.

"Let me risk a little more light. Behold the great realm and dwarf city of Dwarrowdelf." - Gandalf as The Fellowship enters the 21st Hall

"They have taken the Bridge and the second hall. We have barred the gates, but cannot hold them for long. The ground shakes. Drums Drums in the deep. We cannot get out. A shadow moves in the dark. We cannot get out. They are coming". - Gandalf reading Balin's Book
