I've just bought a resonator.... quite a learning curve...
I have watched a lot of dobro videos, but yours really gave me the "heads up" I was looking for. Thank you for sharing

I am a beginner and I am trying to learn your Wabash Cannonball version. I get lost on the D picking and which strings you are picking. Don't suppose you can do another clearer video? Or write this down like they do in some of the beginner books- showing you what strings to pick.

I'm getting this sheet music

FlyingA, Thanks for your video, I am just learing the basics and I find you video informative and encourgeing. You have taken some of the stress out of learing and replaced it with joy, Thank you again!

Hi there 'Flying A',
You sure do make a nice sound.
And you are really helpful to beginners - I am going to try this myself - maybe one day I shall play 'Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain' - one of my favourite songs. Thank you very much.
-
I dunno, your pretty restricted when you use one of these hick guitars
electric blows all other guitars outa the water hands down
-
Interesting approach
-
I think dobro guitars are better than electric guitars.
-
how much exactly for the dobro?
I will try to do that real soon.

Thank you for demistifying the Dobro for me!
I just love that sound and am saving up to get one, can't make up my mind on a flat-played square neck or a round neck so I can play it like a regular acoustic...
Thanks for the good lesson!

I've been scouring the internet for information on a Dobro, and looking to see if I really want one, or if I'm just telling myself it sounds cool. This video made me decide that I need one.
Out of curiousity - is there a model (from what I understand, I would have an easier time with a square neck) that you would recommend, around $400 or less?
Thanks,
Eric

I'm not an expert, but i have been playing guitars for 30+ yrs..I think a square neck will give you a little more sustain and hold its tuning a little better.Personally i wouldn't go too cheap or you will be discouraged by the sound and playability..The offshore Beard gold tone is highly recommended for a good sounding and playing reso, also if it tured out it was not what you wanted to play,it would still have a good resale value..A cheap model wont...Carl
