The only reason why Iran might be a "threat" is because the USA's and New World Order's malevolent presence in the Middle East has "stepped on their toes" in a major way. The so-called "violence" on the part of the Arab-Muslim world is simply a reaction to US meddling in the Middle East. The US rattles its saber & kills hundreds of thousands of innocent people in Gulf Wars I & II. No wonder many folks in the Middle East (Iran included) got angry and resentful.
