Julian Garfield at Beaverun, 10-25-09

Julian runs the Beaverun Sprint track at the "Pumpkin Race" weekend. This is his first attempt at Junior Can at 11yrs old. Both driver and crew have a lot to learn as they tune the new Arrow chassis that's 50lbs heavier than he's ever driven (80lbs of lead), and learn to tune a new motor. Lap times dropped every session down to a 1:01.89, but even violent front end hop on those laps. All in all a good day/weekend.

Tape goes on a radiator to keep the kart at the ideal temperature. On a Rotax in the Summer, it's unnecessary, but in the colder months or sometimes in the rain, the motor runs too cold so you block some of the cooling air that would hit the radiator which causes the engine to warm up more.
