  • Hmm...

What's with it when people say all the time: 'In real life?'

Like in as apposed to the fake life probably?

Apologies flung in your general direction; however it feels good to butcher sentences in circumstances like this.

  • @Dissruptance can you give an example? links to videos are always appreciated (but hard to find)

  • @Dissruptance touché!!! but in this case "real life" is warranted, precisely because I make the distinction between what is within the realm of possibility and what is not.

  • I like the fact you used "shat." When I hear people use "shit" in the past tense it annoys the crap out of me. "He just shit on me" is one I've heard recently. It shits me to tears.

  • @Plomomedia There are two types of people I've found to speak in double negatives: 1) spanish speakers who don't know enough english, and 2) lower class urban people (of whatever race). I believe that of the latter sort, the same people who do it have a 'switchover' dialect they use in more professional settings.

  • @Plomomedia which is just to say it inadvertently pits you linguistically against a certain culture. i admit, i dont like the double negative either, but i've found it to be less of a grammatical mistake and more a cultural "representin".

  • @LucidOwl that's unfortunate, because it is widely adopted by the black community. I try to embrace the double negative but i use it sparingly, usually a bit ironically.

  • The phrase "I don't know nothing" is one of those double negatives that makes my eye lid twitch whenever I hear it.

  • OHHH u were drunk when u did this video as per the wine at the end. now i get it.
