Sweet Home Alabama @ Mississippi Kid Festival by Lostcause

On April 19, 2009 the Mississippi Kid Festival was held in honor of Ean Evans, bass player for the world's greatest southern rock band, Lynyrd Skynyrd. The mayor of Columbus read a proclamation from the City Council declaring the day "Ean 'Mississipi Kid' Evans Day" in the city. The Attorney General of Mississippi read a proclamation declaring the day "Ean Evans Day" in the state. Ean is battling cancer but was able to come out on stage and play with his band, all of whom came out to support their stricken bandmate. It was an unforgetable day. --Lostcause & Sugah

DUDE!!!!! I was at that concert! I was backstage while sweet home alabama was playing then I got up on stage while we were setting up for 5 miles high to play. I was probably the only kid up on stage, i was wearing the mississppi kid shirt... did u see me?

i've been a fan of eans since his outlaw days. thanks for posting. tears rolled down my face when they helped him up.but he's still rockin. god bless his beautiful soul. i saw him new years eve in pikeville ky. lets all pray for a miracle.

I saw some video from the New Years Eve show... it was obvious he was in pain... hardly moving at all, which is not at all like the Ean we know and love... he was in so much pain. God rest Ea's soul... he's no longer in pain.

I will miss you Ean! I am glad he had one last chance to be there with his band Lynyrd Skynyrd! Ean Evans is now a FreeBird Now! and he'll alway be very important to me!
