  • cliff richard used an RT in summer holiday, not a routemaster and reg varney in on the buses never drove a routemaster. Half the bloody pictures in this film are not even routemasters! and not all the facts are correct. If your gonna do something like this Rory, get it right! although you have to admire his enthusiasm.

  • Thanks everyone for the comments-yes,there are quite a few errors in the video, some good film of the bus though, and as dannydudziec noted,"you have to admire his enthusiasm".Cheers!

  • On The Buses mainly featured Eastern National Bristol Lodekkas, not Routemaster!

Ok, Ok. My comment is a totally anorak comment.

But if there *are* going to be informative documentaries identifying particular types of bus or celebrating a particular design, they ought to get their facts right!

  • @Trek001 thats right it was RM200, BLAKELY he went in the lower deck for the INSURANCE test, ( in the film he drove the bus into a bus shelter) and the bus company was told he had do a insurance test thats he drove a BRISTOL K to the CHISWICK skid pan at the end of the two tests one from rthe right & then left blakely fell out of the rear platform and skidded in to the feet of the insurance tester

  • @dannydudziec Reg verny DID drive a RM when he had to take a test on the London Transport skid pan in the first film

  • @dannydudziec that got me too his first sentence had two total inacuracies reg varney always drove a green bristol lodekka and cliff in the rt never a routemaster.

  • what a shame they don't run any more

  • Just to let Rory McGrath know that anytime he is in Scotland, he is welcome to have a shot of driving the Routemaster I own, RML2271. Anyone who is 21 years or over or in the case of my Insurance Company Towergate 25 years old is permitted to drive any bus over 30 years old on a car licence. So if you read this message Rory and are interested in buying your own Routemaster, get in touch as I have a friend who is selling his bus, RML2465.
