John McCain displays his ignorance---or his willingness to pander to the religious right (which, as we have seen, may be even worse)---about the importance of The Separation of Church and State in a pluralistic society.

To compare his views on this all-important issue to those of Barack Obama (and others) with an incisive analysis by Jon Stewart, John Oliver, and John Hodgman, see http://www.yoism.org/?q=node/377

  • You can't just teach FACTS in schools...

  • @PwnBucket The only seperation that is written in the establishment of this country is that the goverment can not establish a national church. the first three words that were used interchangable with church were all denomination meaning that the goverment cannot make catholic or christianity the national church. Not being rude or anything but look back at the first three copies of the first admendment and you will see what i mean.

  • Any civilization without religion will eventually fall. You have to teach both schools of thought regardless of which one is right or wrong, then people will divide in 2 groups, so you can easily conquer ... ;)

  • This man is dumb.

  • so what divine authority is null. spook or none. shit if i give damn bout creation

    got the luciferian attitude

  • @panosmj1976 Nobody also has to know so much about "god" as those who insist that there is no god. Why? Because the other side has no clue.

  • @panosmj1976 Look up Thomas J. He was a secularist, as the other founding fathers. If it was really a christian nation, they'd say so, explicitly, word by word. They just believed in a god. :/

  • @panosmj1976 I do believe that countries such as Sweden and Switzerland, left-leaning countries, WITHOUT the Bill of Rights, Declaration of Independence, and the Constitution are voted and seen as a better place to live than the US- the violence rate is low (But rising because of muslims and christians moving in), the abortion rate is low, income is high, happiness is high, government is seen as good and so on. And, all left-leaning countries are actually more-so democratic than the US of A.

  • We are a pastafarian nation, founded on pastafarian principles. ;)
