If you rip your DVD's to your computer you can cut out everything but the main movie... I do that with every movie we get b/c I loathe all that stuff you just talked about... whenever I watch a movie it goes straight to the movie ... no adds no previews no FBI warning just the movie and no User prohibited actions such as skipping past them not that I need to once I save nothing but the main movie to hard disk

Congratulations. You've missed the point. You've decided to become pedantic instead of making a reasoned argument. You forget that TV is payed for by commercials. That you paid for, meaning that taping it is not a problem, as it still contains the commercials.
