This is the greatest scene from one of the greatest films ever.

Before I tell you what the film is about, perhaps I ought to say who is in it. It's a rather special movie as it was the film debut for no less than three big names in the business. I'll start with Colin Firth as he recently won an Oscar for The King's Speech. Colin plays a young socialist named Judd. Next comes our star, Ruppert Everett, who plays Guy. And, you may recognize the next name, Cary Elwes. For starters, he's the wonderful blond in this scene. But I'm sure that you will all quickly recognize the star of The Princess Bride, released only three years after his debut here.

Based off of the play by the same name, Another Country analyzes British society in the thirties while the nation was on the cusp of a possible revolution. Instead, five spies, the Cambridge five, leaked many British secrets to the soviets. The film tells the story of one of these spies, Guy Burgess, and the hardships that led him to betray his own country.

  • @TheChesxxx Glad to help :)

  • I just watched this film for the first time last night (only took me 25 years, right?). This scene really stood out. They fit together so well, look so comfortable together. I love it when Everett runs his fingers through Elwes' hair. Lovely.

And, omg, I can't believe how YOUNG they all are.

I recognized Nicholas Rowe from Young Sherlock Holmes, too. Times flies, huh?

  • @Book7BrokeMyBrain To be perfectly honest, this film is a few years older than I am, but those two really are perfect together.

  • I love British accent :)

  • sexy fella Cary!!

  • its the guy from princess bride!!

  • These two men are very good actors. They really convinced me that they were in love with each other in this movie. I know that Rupret is really gay in real life, but Cary isn`t so I was really amazed at his acting. They looked so natural together here.

  • I love this so sweet
