  • I wish that tv was still like this, the good old days. Tv today suck donkey balls,tv show today can eat out of my ass because they suck.

  • Man I miss old school late night TV.

  • Actually, all the moves on the theatre were done the old fashioned way, by zooming and panning a studio camera. The theater was airbrushed by Melanie Goux on top of old black and white pictures I shot. Stars? Holes punched in a card. Ratty looking Helvetica? From a Chyron IV. And I just came across that 'the news continues.' photostat the other day. Fading, it's on my bulletin board here in my home office.

  • I worked at TBS right after this.. We had thought that this was a Ben Sidran piece. The graphics were all done in house on an ADO. The voice prior to the intro was the recently departed Bill Tullis, or "Troll" whom we all knew and loved.

  • Thanks for posting this pair of clips. It took me FOREVER to find out who wrote this piece of music (Rodney Franklin) and it was stuck in my head for decades!!

  • I absolutely love this open and close. Not sure what makes it so great whether it be the graphics or the music but I have fond memories of staying up watching those movies on Friday and Saturday nights when we would visit her. I think I saw this one when they showed WAR OF THE WORLDS. I know I saw it on Academy Award Theater which WTBS used to run on Sunday mornings after showing LOST IN SPACE. Bill Tush used to host AAT. Thanks for posting this. Brings back fond memories.

  • Since I have this Movie (And hundreds of others that used to air during this program), on either VHS or DVD you gave me an Idea. Before I go to bed each night I'll logon to this clip, run it, then play the DVD of the appropiate Vintage Movie! Take that, Infomercials!

(PS. Three and a half years ago I got fed up with the deteriorating quality of today's TV Programming and DECLARED MY INDEPENDANCE from Cable TV by "CUTTING THE CORD"! $65.00 a Month buys PLENTY of DVDs! :)

  • From the golden age of Cable, thanks for uploading.
