I was in the Navy from 1964-1968. I was on The Long Beach 1965-1966. Is there a version of this video without the "unregistered" wording in the center? If so, how does one access it?

@plabo65 Hello, I also worked at Fore River as a electrician on both Long Beach and Bainbridge. .I believe that my number was 2340. I worked at first in a Marine berthing area, then the aft main deck including helo landing area. Then i got crosswise to someone and ended up at the base of main mast. This was on the Long Beach. On Bainbridge, I was pulling in cable for reactor.

Hello, I have a page set up for Long Beach and it's former crew. Would it be too much to ask of you to upoad this video to our page?? It is set up so that anyone can upload onto our facebook page. We would be so appreciative. Would you accept money or payment for a good digital copy and a short bio of the event, Day you shot the video? Would you mail it to me? I can pay for your trouble. Thanks

If you take those 8mm to costco, they can digitally convert them to dvd for you! I would be willing to buy a copy from you and I know that if you were to list them on the long beach site or ebay, many would pay you for copies of this! I was stationed on board and would die to have a copy of this particular video! Thanks, Jakoby

when I put my converted 8mm home movie to video of the Longbeach on Youtube , I did not have a Youtube account yet ; that is why the watermark is present as you watch it. I intend to resubmit it so the WM. will be gone. I worked in and around the Pilot House on the 08 level at The Fore River Shipyard, Quincy, MA where she was built as an electrician. I was 18 at that time. I took the movies the day she left for first sea trials.

It's amazing to think of the radar power that the Longbeach had. In exchange for that "Unique" box bride.

When the Longbeach was under it's final conctruction stage at the Fore River Shipyard in Quincy , Mass , is when I worked on her as an electrician. By the time she left the yard for her initial sea trials on the day I took the home movies, I had been laid-off for a few weeks before being hired back to work on the U.S.S. Bainbridge , that is why I was able to take the home movies of the ship leaving the yard instead of being at work in the yard.
