The promises God made to Abraham were intended to be fulfilled through his Son Jesus Christ. The resurrection of Jesus Christ made it possible for believers in these promises to obtain a title to eternal life through righteousness which is of faith, 'the faith of Jesus Christ' (Galatians 2:16). Belief in these promises and being baptized brings a believer into the covenant. When Jesus returns, all the saints who are found faithful at the judgment seat will inherit these promises, and reign with Christ as kings and priests in the kingdom of God.
