I dunno, sounds like to me once you reach the third gate you're not a soldier anymore, but an unstoppable, flaming zombie. That has to suck for the other people.

Condidiot: Nasty business, sieges. They were an expensive gamble.
Having a well in the castle means theyve got water. You might not. Therere food, animals and gardens inside the castle walls. You had to carry your own food. They have all the comforts of home. YOU are in a tent. Bored, in the rain, heat, snow, cold. With friends who might go home and leave you alone. They have ammunition, trebuchets, etc, and maybe friends to creep up behind to relieve your boredom.
Hmm. Next plan? :)

@DannyAces cuz' nothing really says 'hit me with an arrow' like climbing really tall ladders with people dropping thing on my head, tipping the ladders, and yelling nasty taunts. If you managed to get a siege tower to roll across the moat, sure, go for it...

What a fun way of relating facts/information/history of such a beautiful place. This reminded me of taking field trips in grade school, when it was fun and safe to do so by teachers who loved what they did. Good job, please make more.
