Yes but what you fail to notice is that Islam in Turkey (a tenuous democracy based on numerous military coups throughout the last century) was forcibly repressed in order to make room for Western secular values, and Albania and Azerbaijan were atheistic for more than 80 years... Only by removing Islam from politics completely can any Muslim majority country achieve a semblance of liberty

@saxaphone1987 The soviets sold weapons to anyone that had the money.During the Soviet afghan was the US even bought arms off corrupt soviet officers to give to the mujaheddin.The middle east was Russians most profitable arms exports.Besides Israel pretty much all of the middle east has soviet supplied armies.
