The last time this operata was performed in the US was as "Girls of the Golden West". I know it as Csardas Princess. It was first performed in German in Vienna in 1915 and in Hungarian in Budapest in 1916. The piece sung was "There Is Nothing Like Love". It is one of the most pou;ar operettas in the world.
This Operetta is not performed much in the United States. I have a Post war recording of selections fromn Gypsy Princess, probably from the eartly 1950's and I am intrigued by themusic. So this is a treat to me. The Soprano is very gifted musically - novel choreography too!

Ez Magyar operett. Hagyjuk meg azoknak, akik értik a műfajt. Kevés jó orosz operettett láttam. Magyar azért akad...
