To just blame someone else for Gore's failure is childish and illogical. Honestly, if there was a good candidate they would get the votes of the people voting for Nader. It has been shown that many of Nader's supporters are actually people who wouldn't be voting at all but vote because they believe in Nader's policies... they wouldn't have voted for Gore or Bush.

that caused the team to lose. Gore lost not because of Nader or a 3rd party candidate but because of:
1. his campaign, maybe he lost because he didn't do a could job. You get a bad grade on a test because of your performance not because your room mate was watching tv.
2. corruption, there was blatant corruption in this case that was disregarded and if taken into consideration could have helped Gore... like the disenfranchised African American vote.

You say that he pulled a relatively large percentage (of the votes I suppose). If you look at the votes in Florida in 2000 essentially any of the 3rd party candidates had the votes that could have swayed it towards Gore, not just Nader. This demonstrates how Nader is a scapegoat. I don't understand how people can blame someone else for another person failing. That is like a sports team blaming its fans for its loss because they didn't cheer enough... no I believe it was the team failing

You can't possibly blame Nader for Bush. Blame Bush for Bush. Blame Bush voters for Bush. Blame Cheney and Rove and Gonzales for Bush. Heck, its even easier to blame Gore for Bush than to blame Nader for Bush -- Gore lost his own home state.
The Democrats claimed that he was too insignificant in the election to participate in the 2000 presidential debates. After they lost, they claimed that he was too significant.
Anyway, Gore won Florida; he had more votes than Bush, but they weren't counted.

I agree, a third party system is valuable. I would even support third party candidates. That is a righteous end. But, Nader put his righteousness and glory above the good of the country.
If you hadn't noticed, we just went through one of the most destructive decades in history. Nader could have prevented it; Nader is a POS for putting himself above the country.

You must not understand that Nader doesn't like Democrats.
It's true that Gore likely would've won if Nader dropped out. But it's also very likely that Gore would've won if Bush dropped out. It's also very likely that Nader would've won if Gore dropped out.
My point is that parties are sufficiently different from each other that one party campaigning for another is, in itself, a contradiction.

Nader was polling at 5% going into the '00 election. Everyone knew Gore & Bush were neck & neck. Nader could have dropped out of the race & given the election to Gore -- about 80% of Nader supporters supported Gore over Bush. But, he didn't.
