Manoel Island Dog Massacre on the 14th March 1996. Francis Zammit Dimech had ordered the attack on Animal Rescue Malta.
Attack was carried out by the SPCA, Administrative Law Enforcement Police (A.L.E), and government vets led by Tony Grupetta.
Eleven healthy dogs were killed in this frame up against Animal Rescue Malta who later on won the ombudsman report. Ombudsman declared that the Administrative Law Enforcment police led by Peter Cordina, government vets led by Anthony Grupetta and the SPCA led by Alfred Sant Fournier had abused of their powers and killed eleven healthy dogs under the care of Animal Rescue Malta.

I remember the incident and had written a letter to the times of Malta. which had never been published cause they said it contained unfounded accusations against the perpetrators. now its a midi project with over 30 million euros "investments".
