I was 14. I remember how violent it was 67-72. Vietnam, Bobby Kennedy, MLK jr. etc. I always listened to Joni's songs as songs of peace, or at least peace seeking. Thumbs up for Joni and those addressing the issues. Neil Young etc. Do you guys remember when those kids were shot by the National Guard at Kent State? Gosh, I hope we never forget those events. If we do, it can happen again.

@ebonics4everyone while i understand where you are coming from, i have to disagree with you. Talent shines through no matter how it's packaged, case in point Adele. I contend that Joni's talent would most definitely find an audience in those that could appreciate it.

Today Joni Mitchell would be left in the small time club circuit or indie music scene. Mainstream success would be elusive to all of our detriment. I imagine even Bach wouldn't be able to get a music deal today. If you don't have a tattoo in some trashy place or display your labia onstage, you're pretty much ignored by mainstream music fans.
