Jesus must have lied when He said: "For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be." [Mat 24:21]

This one is unique - never was in the past, is not presently happening and will never again take place.

  • @Lysimachus78

That's strange, for God says in Rev 13:7 that power will be given to Antichrist to overcome the saints during the Tribulation. To be slaughtered by the sword is to be protected in the same way the Israelites were in Egypt? (Rev 6:9)

  • It's Dumbledor!

  • This is based an an assumption that the 7 churches represent 7 church ages and it is also based on a dispensational view that the Jewish people will only come relavent during the time of the tribulation.

  • @ruf

Just as God's people were persecuted by evil men during the Dark Ages, so evil men will persecute us during the final last great tribulation. But when God pours out the 7 last plagues during the latter-portion of the Great Tribulation, they will fall on the wicked all around us, but not on the Church. We will go THROUGH the tribulation, but we will not receive the plagues, just like the Israelites were IN Egypt, but did not receive the 10 plagues. That is a TYPE of the latter days.

  • @ruf

There will be an end-time final tribulation, but the first portion of that tribulation was during the Dark Ages, for 1260 yrs. You must employ the day/year principle of Ezek 4:6 and Num 14:34. 70 weeks of Dan. 9:24-27 = 490 yrs. 42 months of Revelation 13 = 1260 years! The same will happen during the final tribulation. There was the 1260 yr tribulation during the Dark Ages, then there will be ONE final tribulation, where God's people will be persecuted when Church and State unite.

  • @ruf

And you, friend, are deceived, who will be in for a rude awakening if you do not make up your mind to understand true Bible prophecy. These ideas of Dispensationalism and the Rapture came from Rome, and the Jesuits. I know ALL the origins. I'm writing a book. It is called "Vindicating the Historical Approach of Bible Prophecy".

  • @Lysimachus78 God did NOT CAUSE people to suffer. Those were the choices of men to tortue both Christians etc. He is a Holy God... If he folds his hands and let the unbelievers suffer, at least he WARNED THEM AND GAVE THEM A CHOICE. Men choose to sin so men have to pay for the consequences. If you believe in Jesus, YOU ARE SAVED. Look up the definition of the word "saved".The reason why the world is this filthy mess it is is because God told Adam and Eve not to have sex but they disobeyed God.

For 1260 years, from about the year 538 to 1798, the Church in the Wilderness was persecuted, & approximately 50 million Christians were hunted down, tortured, slaughtered, killed, smoked out of caves, burned at the steak. God caused the Church to suffer for 1260 years during the Dark Ages, hunted down and persecuted by Rome, but suddenly....the Church at the VERY last few days of earth's history...they get to go SCOT FREE!! WEEEE!! Get realy rufly! You know NOTHING about the Bible.

  • @rufly

Then God is the most brutal God that ever existed--He caused HUNDREDS of thousands of saints to be brutally beaten during the Dark Ages. The Waldenses, the Huegenots, the Albigenesies & hundreds of numerous Christian sects that ALL they wanted to do was to be able to read the Bible were hunted down, tortured, slaughtered, & killed by the Papal Inquisition. Tyndale was burned at the stake. U see, these people had to suffer. But the Church right at the very end, they get to go SCOT FREE!
