@kingt34 what he had invented was far away from a lightbulb the first lightbulb is a german invention (Heinrich Göbel)

Reckon Edison perfected the light bulb; "Edison's version was able to outstrip the others because of a combination of three factors: an effective incandescent material, a higher vacuum than others were able to achieve (by use of the Sprengel pump) and a high resistance that made power distribution from a centralized source economically viable" (Wikipedia) As for the movie -- not bad, but the title kinda gives it away.

@Cauliflower2011 Sorry but that's actually incorrect lol. Humphry Davy invented the first lightbulb back in 1809 which was 19 years before Joseph Swan was even born.

It was actually Joseph Swan who invented the light bulb! Edison just said the idea was his (after Swan had patented it) and took all the glory!
