  • @NiocoNiO I'm not going to star an argument about "What defines a lightbulb" so yeah, let's just szay allthese people were very clever in one way or another, from stealing ideas to coming up with their own.

  • @kingt34 what he had invented was far away from a lightbulb the first lightbulb is a german invention (Heinrich Göbel)

  • Reckon Edison perfected the light bulb; "Edison's version was able to outstrip the others because of a combination of three factors: an effective incandescent material, a higher vacuum than others were able to achieve (by use of the Sprengel pump) and a high resistance that made power distribution from a centralized source economically viable" (Wikipedia) As for the movie -- not bad, but the title kinda gives it away.

  • @Cauliflower2011 Sorry but that's actually incorrect lol. Humphry Davy invented the first lightbulb back in 1809 which was 19 years before Joseph Swan was even born.

  • It was actually Joseph Swan who invented the light bulb! Edison just said the idea was his (after Swan had patented it) and took all the glory!

  • that's sorted now, all fixed up and nicely tagged :)

  • wow for a film board i'd expect ye to tidy up the names a little bit with all the messy codecs on them
