Video taken with a TIS DMK21 monochrome camera. As the video was being captured, I began moving the focus knob inside and outside of focus. The first defocus begins by turning the knob to the right. It is alternated back and forth. You can see that the detail separates and skew upward and slightly to the right when turning to the right. As you move the focus knob to left the detail separates to the left. Watching it repeatedly reveals that the image is being skewed at 90 degree angles to each other instead of a general softening of the image as would be expected. My H-Alpha PST simply softens on both sides of focus.
