2) record yourself on a camcorder, working on the track with even a newpaper proving the date of the recording.
3) always write down "all rights reserved to ___(whatever the name is)___"
4) lastly what costs a lot of money if you have many tracks is to actually pay for the copyright, as far as i know each track could be around 20 dollars to 100 depends on the track (don't take my word for this one though)

1) you have a track? great! bounce it and put the files with a readme file that explains about the track and when you created it. burn it on a cd and go to the post office, package it and send it to yourself. Dont open it ever unless in court and you must prove you were the first one to make this track.

@quincymh15 This is definitely something I would want more information on. There are a few ways I can already tell you about:
FIRST OF ALL !!! NEVER trust ANYONE with a track UNLESS you 100% HAVE TO and think this is a ONCE IN A LIFETIME OPPORTUNITY to work with that person BUT STILL take precautions:

Thank you for the information, the presentation was very clearly understandable.

@DavidCamposComposer aah...looks sweet, enjoy it, its freezing here in Tokyo.
Dave,
Where do Artists or bands go to find music if they are not song writers? So much published music can get lost like a needle in a hay stack. What do you suggest a song-writer/Musician do to get his music heard? What is the least expensive way to copyright my music? Thank you in advance for caring to share your knowledge Dave
Gil.

@techgil Hi Gill
Thats more like a book your asking for lol . Artists or record company A&R usually find songs for artists from music publishers or friends or Music producers etc..
