West Somerset Railway Williton Mixed Traffic

A visit to williton station on a very hot june day in 2009 during the west somerset diesel gala shows the amazing attention to detail paid by the volunteer staff on the line. Freshly painted wooden fences and buildings,adorned with beautiful flower baskets welcome visitors. The clip shows preserved locomotives arrive and depart, for Minehead and then Bishops Lydyiard near Taunton.D7017 and D832 respectively. In the workshops are a Western locomotive D1010 Western Campaigner being overhauled alongside a Hymek loco D 7018 in old British Railways green livery. A class 33 in green is also on view with another 33 ready for work to start on its badly needed overhaul.As usual the staff at the railway were warm and friendly, trying to get the Yorkie lost in the Maze by the Station House. The Railway is one of several in the U.K of which am impressed with the Customer Service. Nothing seemed too much trouble. Driving back into London it seems that the WSR is more than a world away!

Hi benwilliams1235 Thank you for comments, visitng the wsr was a wonderful day out for myself, my wife and my yorkie Clint Eastwood as it is every time we go to the railway. Thanks to volunteers it is possible to have such a wonderful place to visit. Good luck with the coach restoration.
