This is a challenging song - interesting chords - each 'A' section is slightly different. There is a downloadable version, and a midi file recorded at the same time at
http://web.newsguy.com/dougmck
A .pdf file of the transcription is on my DVD - details are on the above website

  • I think what Doug is doing here on Time For Love is about as good as one can get. Makes me jealous to see someone play like this. Great Johnny Mandel tune written in the mid-60's.

  • Beautiful - thank you! I, too, was reminded of Bill Evans. Personally, I find listening to Matt Monro's unaffected delivery of Webster's lyric and Johnny Mandel's music to this lovely song to be an ideal complement to exploring its wonderful changes. Like the man said, pure bliss. Yes, indeed, pure bliss; the sheer rapture of aesthetic arrest...(wistful sigh).

  • What a beautiful piece...please keep them coming!

  • Nice nice,

what can i say pure bliss,

im gonna get the horn out and learn this tune.

    respect to the max

    David

  • How can you be tired of Rock n Roll?????!!!!!

    Its a beautiful track

I would hunt down the version of "A time for love" on the Stan Getz CD called On Green Dolphin Street. The piano solo by Lou Levy is wonderful.

Then check out the versions with lyrics by Abbey Lincoln and Jamie Callum and there are others too .....

    Enjoy

  • check out lou levy's solo on the stan getz track from his album On Green Dolphin St ..... or perhaps you already have? There are also lyrics which can be found sung by Abby Lincoln and Jamie Callum

    Lovely song

Its funny hearing the lyrics years after getting to know the instrumental version so well, the music said it all, the lyrics just confirmed what I already knew......

Nice tune to spend time with

  • thank you very much, I loved it...you have a beautiful touch

  • muy bueno, Excelente. Desde Argentina.

  • that's great! from Russia with deep respect...
