Tommy Overstreet was the artist who originally recorded this song. Tommy Oliver covered it shortly after it became an international hit for Tommy Overstreet. Tommy Oliver re-recorded it in 2007 for his album "Grootste Treffers" CDCJ022 (Stetson Music)
Another great story teller (really on a 1973 roll tonight). Not so surprising - you usually get a good story with country music. Ahhh true BFE (none or this farting, snoring yadda, yadda) ahhhh :o)
I played in Germany with MY Country Band "Cheyenne" from 1980-83! We played all OVER Germany. I booked us from Frankfurt to Fulda. I was here when Tommy came to Germany. I was stationed at Freidberg /Ray Barracks in Elvis Presleys unit. 1/32 Armor "Bandits"!!!!!
Got to see Tommy back in the 70s in Grand Junction. Colorado, at the Cafe Caravan, really put on a good show.
