  • Irfy Gitlis is truly amazing-- a magnificent member of the human race. His playing is unique, intelligent, & always very interesting. He has always been among my favorite violinists of all time. I have heard the Tchaikovsky performed by at least 1,000 violinists, yet Gitlis' playing stands out like, Heifetz, Oistrakh, Ricci, and the like. There is no weakness in his playing whatsoever. He's got it all.
