Toxic people make up about ten percent of the population and cause over 50% of all relational damage. For our own well-being and the well-being of those we care about we must learn how to cope with these toxic people at home, at work and at play.

How Do TOXIC PEOPLE Affect Us?
They rob us of our dignity, destroy our self confidence,increase our stress levels, destroy our morale, erode our self esteem, foster negativity, decrease productivity, make life hellish.
are abusive.They are toxic because they can get away with it and it works for them.

Other Tips Are...
Remember that you can't change toxic people, but you can learn to cope with them. Here are some effective strategies to try.
* Always stand at eye level with the person you are confronting. Never have them standing over you looking down.
* Respect the toxic person and always expect respect in return. Settle for nothing less.
* Remain calm.
* Listen attentively.
* Don't argue or interrupt, just listen.
* Don't accuse or judge, just state how you feel.
* If the toxic person tries to verbally bully you, just say, " I don't allow people to treat me this way." Then slowly and calmly walk away.
* When someone is being toxic to you here is a powerful response and one that is easy to use because you don't have to say a word. In the midst of a toxic attack just PAUSE....LOOK AT THE PERSON, WITHOUT EMOTION......TURN AND WALK AWAY. It works!
If all else fails you might be left with only one option; to separate yourself from the toxic person in your life.
YOU DON'T EXIST TO BE SOMEONE'S PERSONAL GARBAGE DUMP.

I've a toxic sistr. She alwys complains abt other ppl and tries to prove how bad her life is. If I try to change the topic she gets even angrier and start blaming me for nt caring enuf or talk abt how good my life is. Shes vry insnsitive and nosy about ppl's personal matters. I'm 23 and she's 28 now. I'm so frustrates that i jst avoid her now. She was divorcd last year and has no frend becz of her behavir. I want to help her bt evry time I try she hurts me with hr cruel words. What to do?

@Savetheworld714 OH B-O-Y! OK ... Listen to Me... You can do NOTHING to help her while she is in this mindset. Family are the last people on the planet you will listen to, esp if you are being Obnoxious. By distancing yourself from her behavior you save yourself, AND send her Loving thoughts on the side. Love her, But limit your exposure......either she will realize that she is messing up with her relationships and do something about it.... or she will carry on, totally unaware and indifferent.

I have a question we have friends who are very toxic they don't take the hint from all the invite refusals and unanswered phone calls. They still show up at our house wanting to hang out for an hour. The wife never speaks and the husband all he does is talk about how he hates our house hates our life ex its gotten so we don't even defend ourselves to him because its gotten so old. My question is if he hates every aspect of our lives our house the car ex why does he keep coming over to our house?

@Chloey39 So to take so long to Reply Chloey! This is a classic! Two very unhappy people who don't hate your life, its their own life they hate. People move away from pain, toward pleasure....... believe me if your life was that abhorrent to them it would be far too pain too painful to turn up. People often don't deal with their own crappy lives and instead put others down so they can feel better about themselves. Its very common. Tell them not to come around anymore and tell them Why.

Honestly, when I started to watch this video,I had little expectation with regards to it being very serious due to the humorous approach at the begining, but as I watched on, I could see that it made a lot of sense and I could relate to it as a Christian. The approach used in getting the idea across is very innovative. Great job!
