The Fargo and Moorhead communities sit on the brink of an impending citywide record flood. After the citizens rallied and raised the city dikes to 43 feet (two feet above flood crest), they were informed that the Red River would now crest at 43 feet and the dikes would need to be raised two feet higher... and the heroism continues...

At this point, the Fargo city Mayor , Dennis Walaker, has stated, "We are in unchartered territory."

  • what's the name of this song/selection? Awesome video!!

  • The song is taken from the soundtrack of the movie Apollo 13 - it's a very somber, but uplifting song.

  • THIS is what AMERICA is all about. It's not about who leads and the issues we argue about. It's about rolling up the shirtsleeves and getting it done!

  • This is what ND is...I am glad to say I was born & raised there.

we are proud of you all for fighting.

  • I Pray to. I love my city and if i have to sandbage, i will do so as i have in 1997 and 2009.

  • THATS MY CITY! love everybody. its hard watching this and knowing it couldhappen again. :) please pray

  • I agree fully. I haven't been able to see all these different flood things yet. The Discovery Middle School 8th graders were at Sandbag Central for the one day before school was called off, that's the first time in history that the 8th grade was called to help. It was overwhelming how many people wanted to be out helping the community instead of wasting time in class. The only thing anyone thought about was getting out into the sandbag lines. I get emotional just thinking about how great we are.

  • Words cant explain how proud i am to live in a great community like frgo/morhead! It so amasing how we can all come to geter and helping each other! We didnt need help from the National gard we almaost did it all our selves. There was peole and kids of every age and evey place helping. We are strong enought to clean up mother natures mess and stay untited throuh it.

  • my cousins and aunt and uncle live there. and they had to help with the sandbags. they only live a few blocks away from the river...please be safe♥

  • i live near the oak grove neighborhood helped sandbag there for a week straight to surround the entire neighborhood with a 4 foot wall of sandbaggs extremely proud to live here

  • I just wanted to say how wonderful it was to see all the ppl helping to save a town, I am from wadena mn i came up to help ppl who have a chance to save there houses and it just made me feel so good to help ppl who really need it, i got to meet lots of new ppl and it was one of the most uplifting experiences i have ever had, Thank you all for the help, Lets all chip in for a nice hard workin day!!!! :)

  • my aunt lost her house and had to evacuated with a helicopter and its really hard
