Real Name: Inaya Davis
Profile: Blessed with an amazing gift of song, Inaya Day began singing in church as a young child, where she got her first experience in performing.
She attended the high school of Music and the Performing Arts in her native city, New York and went on to major in musical theater at The University of Bridgeport.
Inaya was then off to the stage to do Musicals in New York. This Brooklyn-born songstress is well known and respected by her peers. She understudied Stephanie Mills in "The Wiz", receiving rave reviews when she stepped into the lead as "Dorothy" in New York, St. Louis, and Washington DC.
Inaya has an incredible vocal ability, rivaling those of legendary female vocalists. Her sound is unique, her music is "next level", and she is more than at home on stage. Watching her perform is an electrifying experience rarely found in todays music industry.
Inaya is no stranger to recording, either. She has recorded vocals for Michael Jackson, Al Green, Sean "Puffy" Combs, MC Lyte, Queen Latifah, Monie Love, Big Daddy Kane, Jonathan Butler and Randy Crawford to name a few.
In addition, Inaya Day is an incredibly versatile songwriter, having co-written two songs on Randy Crawford's lp Every Kind of Mood. The songs were chosen to be the first two singles and hit the charts in the U.S. and the U.K. respectively. These songs are also found on Ms. Crawford's current CD release.
Inaya's list of credits also includes two songs written for and with Bootsy Collins for his album "Fresh Outta "p" University".
She has spent time on the Billboard dance charts with Projects of her own ("Keep Pushin'" #2 and "Hold Your Head Up High" #6) both of which she sang and wrote, produced by Boris Dlugosch.
She is also the vocalist on Mousse T.'s "HORNY" which climbed to #1 on the billboard dance charts.
Inaya's voice can be heard on Mike Cruz's "MOVINUP" (co-written by Inaya with China Ro) on Nervous Records (which peaked at number 3 on the billboard dance charts in the year 2000).
Formally signed to the now defunct Strictly Rhythm where her first single was "Feel It" produced by DJ Dome.
Released on Subliminal records last summer is the follow-up to "Just Can't Get Enough" (written by Inaya, produced by Harry Choo Choo Romero) entitled "I Will" (also penned by Inaya for the MongoBonix project).
Inaya is a force to be reckoned with and will pull out all the stops in this millenium.
