  • @pspeas

they pick up vibrations using their hair

  • @Jon3800 wow..and if they cant see that much..how do they catch the Insekts so fast..I mean they are very fast, even if they are behind them?! Thanks for the Info

  • @pspeas

Because all of their 8 eyes are clustered together, they're not blind per say... more like near sighted... they can probably see a few centimeters in front of them before it's blurry

  • @Jon3800 ok...are you sure they are blind?? I got a G. porteri in a 100x30x40 terrarium..maybe the terras are expensive!! My Tarantula is pretty active...Maybe you are right!! They must be Males...

  • @pspeas

Tarantulas are blind animals so they don't really benefit from larger cages.. I have a G.rosea in a large 5 gallon glass tank, and she barely uses a 1/3 of it. Plus I do have over 120 tarantulas and Its expensive here to use large terrariums. Most of them here go for over $50. Most Tarantulas that you saw wandering around are likely mature males trying to find a mate. It's very rare that you'll female tarantulas walking out in the open.

  • @Jaredr781 ???

  • @pspeas HAHA yeah.. call out the kid with 130 Ts

  • @Jon3800 yea i know...i live in chile and if you go up the mountain, youll see alot of tarantulas here, and not all of them are in a cave!! they are walking around...In my opinion they need more space, not because the "professionals" say they dont need that much space dosnt mean its true!!(sorry for bad english)

  • @pspeas

seriously, if you knew about tarantulas...they don't require a lot of space to survive well. In the wild 100% of the time, you see them in small burrows.
