@meelusine they never even met. he had a certain respect for crowley's writings and thelesa or whatever that cult is called, but he did not know crowley. he did call him a friend i think, but that was not true. it was probably because he respected his work. and its not a "devil" religion, idiot. they dont even believe in a devil.

@aggmedia By those standards we would have to say that most of what goes on in Capitalism is therefore Evil (and many would agree)--taking advantage of 'sick' souls by selling more and more crap that they do not need.

@eldiran2 So, to take advantage of those peoples' desperation and make money from it is not evil? Especially if, as you say, they are sick. Concocting a scheme to rob the sick of their money is pretty effing evil in my book.

His 'religion' came about through his extreme unhappiness with his own lifestyle & the things he was doing he intelectualised them (google ego defence mechanisms) & his refusal to believe that he had psychiatric problems.From his 'alibi' a whole religion for lost sheep came about.His evil is being carried on thats his true legacy Evil.

The guy is not Evil...he is a con-artist. It is all the people who so desperately need to believe that somebody else has the answer for their life's purpose/problems that are truly sick. Hubbard would not have become what he did had not so many listened to what he had to say and followed him.
