Could you tell me the specs of the engine you used??
Like what is the size, etc....

my dad had one bright green lt 28 built in '77.
Was a nice ride, I always enjoyed it when he took me home from my grandparents after kindergarten!
pretty thirsty though, it ran the 2,0 litre audi engine at 75 incredible horses :D
rusted too much and wasn't affordable anymore bach in 99...unfortunately

I had three vwlt s like this , you dont see them anymore, tough vans but ther engines needed a lot of oil cahnges and people never kept up the servicing so they all ended up in the scrap yards.
juicy on the fuel though.

brilliant! how much to fit one to my 1978 lt 31 karmann kamper?

That's not an LT28, it's the LWB model with extra panel behind the B pillar. Possibly an LT35, given the dual rear axle.

Nice video and great engine for an LT. I have 2 of these one a LT 50 single cab Slide and tilt recovery truck and a LT50 crew cab spec lift. Both trucks work their nuts off and are better than newer recovery trucks i have owned. As for what this truck is i would say its at least a LT40 as they didnt do a crew cab version on twin rear wheels on anything lesser than the LT40 chassis. The LT 28 was a single wheeled rear axle panel van. Great trucks keep on going forever . Keep up the good work.

The double rear wheels were only available on LT35, 40, 50, 55 - so it has to be one of them, unless it's been converted after!

No no no, it was a LT28, im sure.
-
I thought it was a LT25 from memory, could be wrong though?

Nutters
This is truly awesome, what an excellent sound!
Isn't this an LT55 or something though? Surely with the fifth wheel, heavy axle, and the noseweight of a trailer, the 2.8 tonne limit of an LT28 would be (more than) entirely taken?

To be completely honest, we are not 100% sure of the model. SO any advice/comments welcome from looking at the shape of the front on google images LT28 was the closest we could match it too.

Well the project is coming on, she is now LPG converted with our Power plenum mixer and the missing water pump pulley has been sourced.
