Musically speaking, both songs are originally in A Minor, but I think something must have happened while you were editing, cause the Smooth Criminal backing track is a key higher. If it wasn't, the songs would have matched, and it would have been a pretty good mix. I say try it again to make two amazing songs one extra-amazing mashup, cause it will work very well. (:
