Sekota is a town where Agews, Amharas and Tigray Ethiopians have lived together, in harmony, for centuries. This song depicts the traditional dance and clothing style of the Agews (which is very similar to the Amharas) who are the main inhabitants of the norther part of Wag-Himra Zone, as it is known today. Their settlement borders the Tigray region mainly Temben and Enderta of norther Ethiopia. The southern part of the zone, bordering Lasta, is inhabited by ethnic Amharas.   • Beautiful video from the beloved sekota Ethiopia. I was there a few weeks ago. I took a short car trip from Lalibela to Sokota. The people there look even more beautiful than on film, let me tell you.

  • im always fascinated by the rich and diverse culture of ethiopia,really true and authentic.i m from eritrea my ethinic group called belin(keren city) i can understand some word fro this longuage as belin people migrate from ethiopia long time ago keep going and good luck

  • agewes specially the wagshums are the one which has given thier power peacfully to the solomonic dynasty .The only peacful power transfer has been done by the wagshumes . they rulled ethiopia for 300 years . by the way atse tekelegirorgis of lasta ,sekot ,agew was an emperor of ethiopia after atse tewodros.
