Here is Indah, who was born in March 2010, prancing around in her new surroundings under the watchful eye of her Mommy.
The Malayan tapir's unmistakable body coloration is for camouflage as the disrupted coloration makes it more difficult to recognize it as a tapir and renders the tapir nearly invisible in the moonlit jungle at night.
However, baby tapirs are completely different from their mature relatives, resembling brown watermelons with whitish stripes and spots on a chocolate brown coat.
Indah will lose this baby coat between four to seven months after her birth.
Are there any baby lion cubs?
