runs strong but needs some work. YES IT WAS SET REALLY HIGH UP. JUST GOT TACH AND PUT IT IN AT THE TIME AND DIDNT REALLY CARE 2 MUCH ABOUT SETTING IT SINCE I WAS SELLING TRUCK. I THINK IT CAME SET 2 A 6 CYLENDER FORD AND OFCOURSE THAT IS A 8 CYL SO THATS WHY IT IS HIGH RPMS..

  • @79fordblake Yeah, mine is knocking really bad now lol. i know it could do it, but it sure didnt want to!

  • I doubt a stock 351m/400 can make it to 6,000 rpm without blowing up. It has to be balanced, machined, and blueprinted to take that kind of abuse. These engines made their most power at 2-3 thousand rpm, never was meant to turn fast at all.

    8,000 rpm is the 289 and Boss 302's domain.
