It wasn't chewing gum, it was a rock. It is a tradition to leave a stone on someone's grave. The tattoo is Aramaic for "Jesus the Messiah."

RIP Gene, weird how as a movie fan his death hit me as it was someone I had known personally, to this day I miss Gene and his reviews.

As for whose grave he visited & put on YouTube, you'd have to ask him. I stumbled on it while trying to find Gene's last appearance on TV. Clearly you came for some some reason.  If you are so offended why not just LEAVE?
