CFSWW: Lee and Connie Kearney, 2011 Philanthropists of the Year

The Philanthropist of the Year award recognizes and celebrates individuals, foundations and corporations that have demonstrated outstanding charitable leadership and serve as an example of generosity to others in the community.

Lee and Connie Kearney were honored as the Philanthropist of the Year at the Community Foundation for SW Washington's Annual Luncheon, May 10, 2011.

and support them generously. They were instrumental
in opening the Kearney Breast Center at Southwest
Washington Medical Center where Lee serves as Board Chair, and Connie is a member of the Foundation Board. Connie is a past Board Chair of the Boys & Girls Clubs
of Southwest Washington where their support resulted
in the opening of the O.K. Clubhouse.

Lee is a former Board Chair of the Community Foundation and was instrumental in launching the Community Giving Fund. Connie served as Clark County's first woman Commissioner, a seat she won after leading the transformation of a hazardous property into the first public park on the Salmon Creek Greenway. They have provided generous, ongoing support to numerous local charities.

Additionally, Lee and Connie Kearney have had a significant impact on Oregon State University, where they both started their careers. In 2010, the Kearneys and two other owners donated Anthony Lakes Mountain Resort to Baker County, Oregon, assuring that this winter recreation gem continues to serve the region.
