Baby Scratch Tutorial by DJ Short-e.

This week, Short-e teaches you how to do the Baby scratch. Do not be fooled by the name, it is the easiest scratch to learn and the hardest to master. Mastering the baby scratch will lay a strong foundation for the other scratches coming up in the future especially the chirp.

Beat # 8546 used in this clip is available here:

    valiente for greece

  • @tsoukoutsouk vinyl record is superseal

  • I'm watching you videos, what I don't understand is in which situatitions to use or not the crossfader, here you're scratching without touching it, and in other videos you do the same scratching but opening and closing it, kinda confused (beginner)

  • @Baren75 hello, if you work through the videos one by one it will explain the techniques and in which cases I use the cross adder or not. this is a faderless scratch, but in other videos when I am using the cross fader, the clicks of the fader cut the sound off and on to make different sounds. hope that helps

  • which turntables?

  • @FreestyleAcademyPro technics 1200 mk II with silver faceplates

  • @googleboughtmee you got it! peace

  • @chrisdkpl it is just a baby scratch, moving the record backwards and forwards, but i am varying the record speed and doing it in sets of 6 - 123456 with a big emphasis on the 1. experiment with varying the speed at which you move the record backwards and forwards

  • is there a better technique as far as using your index and middle finger to scratch or your middle and ring finger... I notice Jazzy jeff uses the former technique while someone like atrak uses the latter?? what about if your using a cdj is there a better technique?
