Here is RARE and very beautiful colour home cinefilm of the pairs event at the Winter Olympics at Cortina d'Ampezzo in Italy. As 2-time and reigning World Champions they finished a very controversial 2nd at this event to Sissy Schwarz & Kurt Oppelt of Austria.

Thank you for explaining, but I typed my questiong wrong, I forgot to add the word lift. I was actually going to ask, if Dafoe/Bowden were the first pair to do lifts. Eurosport once showed a summary of past pairs champions (many years ago, during an Olympic tribute to G&G after he passed away). Do I remember correct that this pair was the first to do lifts? Or perhaps that was someone else.

@speakingtruly No. Pairs skating has been going for over a century. There have been pairs competitions since at least the early 1900's.
