yes, it came out slightly wrong. Murphy was a great guitarist and much missed by all who worked with him, no doubt at all. But he was only with Level for a very short while, and even before he passed away, I didn't think he was a full member, like Boon, which is why "Level 42 guitarist" sounds like a posh way of introducing him. It's like saying, "Rolling Stones bassist Darryl Jones." Misleading?
Was Alan Murphy really a full member? Would never accuse '42 of crying crocodile tears for media coverage, but Alan Murphy played on every record going, and only one of Level's, so what's the big idea?
Regarding "changes" in Mark's voice, every person's voice changes in 30-something years in terms of quality/texture, even if sublty. I think Mark has become a technically better singer, and better uses his upper range. Also he has stopped drinking heavily, and perhaps in doing so has halted or reversed some damage done in earlier years by less effective vocal technique and alcohol consumption.
Again, regarding Mark's voice, it was probably a day after a show, and his voice may have not yet been warmed up, he probably had not yet done a lot of talking that day. Or maybe he had a cold. The lower, gruff quality of his voice, more than usual, suggests recent heavy vocal activity or cold.
His voice is not warmed up and it might be the weather or enviornment. Completely normal. His voice is highest quality and unique in the business with a great range.

@cedarjet707 What an odd post. The reason he only played on one album was because he died!

I'm actually quite surprised at Mark King's speaking voice...I always thought he'd have a much higher voice. Dunno why...
