Amsterdam's streets and canals come alive in a sea of Orange (the colour of the local Royal family) each April 30th for Queens Day or Koninginnedag in the local lingo.

Drinking, shaking your money maker - and being Amsterdam, whatever else takes your fancy - with friends is the order of the day (and the night before). Wearing orange is more than preferable, it's almost mandatory (the event is also known - justifiably - as the Amsterdam Orange Festival). If that ain't enough the whole city becomes a huge, car boot sale for the day whilst street trading rules are relaxed. Sounds like fun huh!

  • What stupid fool touted that this festival is in Holland? Palmtrees and architecture do not match the low countries. It is situated in Menton France: Menton Festival de l’Orange Spectaculaire. Worth a visit indeed!

  • @MichiCipoten "The Amsterdam Orange Festival is officially known as Koninginnedag, or Queen’s Day – and the whole of the country turns into an orange-coloured extravaganza – the House of Orange having been associated with the Dutch Royal family for many generations."

  • since when do we have mountains in Holland, the oranges festival was somehwere else and has nothing to do with Holland or Queens day, just oranges!

  • @Choefoe - this is your opinion but is not right. Pls read about this festival and after, come back and tell us the story :))

  • Bravo..

  • @TheBenvoliomozart That makes sense. I knew it wasn't Holland but you appear to be right on the money. Thank you fo0r the clarification.

  • @annagitana1 It is certainly not Curacao..... The Islmand is rather flat and has some deserted mountains with no old city at its feet....The cities have no palm trees and no old buildings with "green persiennes" and "old rose walls" typical of the french riviera between Nice and Menton........... This is the lemmon and orange festival of Menton...FRANCE

  • @mysnakeeye But unfortunately your are not enough informed to put the right video !!

This is the lemon and oranges festival at Menton ....France...moron !!

  • @Saherfree Yes...and they are from Menton... FRANCE !!! Côte d'Azur or french Riviera !!

  • @mysnakeeye My mom's from Amsterdam. Sorry, no palm trees and no mountains there or anywhere in Holland. This must be Dutch Curacao or even New Zealand where the Dutch community celebrates Queen's Day. They celebrate Queen's Day in Holland, of course, but not like in the pictures on your video.

By the way, what makes you think you know more than a Dutch native about their own country? (I'm speaking about your reply to Choefoe).

  • Hey what song is this please? I love it!!!

  • @mysnakeeye See on your channel your from Roemenia, nice channel btw

  • @mysnakeeye Well it sure is NOT AMsterdam as it says in the video
