Bravo! Sometimes we the europeans, like to throw the glove to our american friends, so I will say that this kind of music is actually irish, it comes from Ireland. :-) Modern american's biggest mistake is that they had been cut from the traditions and let Madonna fullfill their lives. :-) So, keep the traditions and culture as much as you can. :-)

Great job but the sound quality just wasn't the best. But it was good enough to bw able to hear the music.

Excellent work! For me, as a beginner at clawhammer (1 month), you provide great inspiration. Some day . . .

Billy,
I remember thinking the same thing when I first heard clawhammer banjo in 2000. I decided that I had to learn that. You too will get there.....just keep pushing. Thanks, Larry

Great stuff! I'm curious the heritage of this particular version. Sounds a lot like the one John Hartford did on one of his last albums.

Tuhker,
I got that tune from one of my banjo books...but there are several variations of that tune that I have heard. Also I have seen it called Boatsman and Boatman. Variations arise from independent evolutions over the years in different regions. Thanks, Larry
