@kepr1 part of thinking for yourself includes learning about things whether we agree or not indoctrination is something everyone goes through including you and me. I did not reply to your second comment.
Its nothing new. When I was in high school many years ago my parents thought teachers were teaching crap as well.
Perhaps instead of whining parents should take the time to discuss and go over these things with their kids and be involved with them and not rely on others to teach their kids morals and common sense.
@BeingNobody1956 You obviously didn't bother to watch the entire video and are making assumptions based on perceptions you've been conditioned to believe. @4:23
@m8ra1yn1l how am I dismissing or ridiculing any student? it seems that you are dismissing the teachers and textbooks because they teach alternate perspective from what you have already taught your children. why dont you stop teaching your kids what glenn beck and hannity tell you to teach them.. why dont you do some research on your own, in an objective manner, setting aside everything that you have been conditioned to perceive. you might learn something about reality.
@m8ra1yn1l the textbooks and teachers are not telling students what is Right", they are just teaching kids more than one perspective. they are not lying to children. they are just teaching kids something you dont want them to hear. you dont want them to have the option to make their own informed decisions, yet you would send them to a church and let a church instill things into their young impressionable minds simply because you may agree with what the church is teaching them
@BeingNobody1956 I don't think anyone has proposed to withhold information from children. This is about parents being undermined by the public school system. The textbooks and teachers, whether directly or indirectly, are telling the students what the "right" position is on social issues.
@m8ra1yn1l yet you are unwilling to see that you teaching your kids only what you want them to know and believe is also doctrination. and you sitting there watching beck, hannity and o'rielly everyday is allowing them to indoctrinate you. turn off your tv and radio and reseaerch the world and life yourself..OBJECTIVELY.. you might learn something, mostly about yourself. I dont sit around listening to or watching any talking head, allowing them to influence my thinking or ideology
@m8ra1yn1l I didnt say anything at all about who has any authority. you are trying to find some way of accusing me of some form of social ideologist. I am saying that if you are teaching your kids at home it is because you want them to see the world the way you see it, subjectively.. you think that anyone who teaches your kids anything you dont want them to know about is indoctrinating them

@BeingNobody1956 So dismissing and ridiculing a student solely on the basis that she has an opposing view isn't imposing a perspective?

@BeingNobody1956
Are you trying to say the state has more authority over what children should learn over the parents?
