  • @seanblessing

The were ambushed by 2 different formations, british and canadians.

  • @Dreachon: I did read about Wittmann's last tank action... and it appeared to be suicidal attack with his 3 Tigers against numerical superior Allied tanks. The Allies took all 3 Tigers out from the sides in open country, in other words they were ambushed.

Wittmann's sixth sense didn't serve him well that day. :(

  • @seanblessing

Probaly the same as he was during his career on the Tiger i.

  • @Dreachon: I wonder what Michael Wittmann would have been like in the King Tiger?

  • @HeirofGojira91 I suspected it was naturally propaganda haha. There was Goebbels - I read in 'SEIG HEIL!' he was labelled the propagandist - speaking of propaganda - and for a Nazi he was quite immoral, unscrupulous and did the 'Big Lie' more or less inspite of the war grinding down by '44-45. Power of Propaganda indeed!

  • @HeirofGojira91

Sounds odd as Wittmann was part of the 1st ss Liebstanderte, not the 2nd.

In Russia Wittmann's tiger had the number S21.

S01 for the II ss schwere panzerregiment would have been commanded by the company commander.

  • @HeirofGojira91

I have never heard of that term actually but it is likely as you say something that came out of the propaganda wars.

You will allways downplay the enemies equipment while making your own stuff look better than it actually is.

  • @Dreachon Oh is the term 'Jerry-Built' just some propaganda bullshit in WWII that the Germans were making crapier and crapier quality stuff such as tanks in particular? Given you mentioned even though the Germans were struck by bombing and lost more valuable raw materials they still maintained thier standards to the best - if not better than improving Allied material...
