Apparently, this song is neither from Fayrouz nor from Pooran / Vigen:
"There is a lot of controversy about the origin of this song... This great tune has been traced to as early as 1908 to Molla Ottoman Al Mouseli to celebrate a girl from an affluent Iraqi family called Al Chalabi Family. It has been sung by many, most prominently Sayed Darweesh, the great Fairuz and many others. What is funny or may be sad, is that almost every nation in the middle-east thinks the song is its".

You are correct. Fairuz/Turquoise is a slightly greenish shade of cyan. The color is based on the gem turquoise...better known in Arabic as Fairuz.

I thought fairouz meant turquoise in syriac or emerald or something like that. From what I heard it was suppose to represent the color green coming from the land hence all her beloved songs to beirut (li beirut) etc. If I am incorrect please correct me however I have never heard of the word fairouz in relation to the persian word mabrouk.

Beautifull... originaly a persian song called "Shaneh meaning comb" performed by legendary Iranian diva "Pouran" in the early 70s...which is copied by firouz...by the way firouz is also a beautiful persian name which in arabic means Mabrook...
