A reconstruction test where an Explorer rolled on top of a Ford Taurus/Mercury Sable. The Explorer's roof crushed excessively, causing severe injuries to the occupants.
@jeepluv76 Well, if you can study the basics, the one on the left crushed more, therefore making its way to the ground faster, while the one on the right, is still in freefall because the roof is stable and wont make its way to the ground fast enough. This I understood right away.
Notice! at 0:26 the Explorer on the Left has hits the ground while the Explorer on the Right is still in free fall. Now notice 0:27 the angles are different. The Explorer on the Left is far more on it's roof vs. the Explorer on the Right it is on it's side. So it it really reinforced or just a faulty test?
@BrunostNOR - Expeditions I'm not too sure, but the 2011 Explorer did better than the 2011 Honda Pilot, 2011 Nissan Pathfinder & XTerra and 2011 Toyota 4runner on rollover tests - which Proves that the (explorers) roof structure has gotten a LOT better. 2011 Explorer is an iihs best pick. Look it up - there's quite a few in there.
@fcastellanos1 I guess these videos show how easy it is to make the roof stronger. The Ford Explorer and Expedition still have (2011 models) awful roof structure
certainly it does much better but I don't understand... are those reinforcements done by third parties or are production cars equipped with them from that time on?

@BrunostNOR actually, no. If you watch the 2007 Ford Expedtition rollover test it did really well.
